Consultations at Justin Tucker Law: Building Your Professional Team

Your first consultation with our law firm is important for starting a professional relationship and making sure you're prepared for quality legal help. Our process is set up to understand your legal needs and see how we can assist you.

In this first, in-person meeting, we will talk about the details of your case, what matters to you, and possible legal plans. We'll decide if we can take your case, discuss what to expect, and explain costs. Often, your consultation can give you a better understanding of your situation.

Before your appointment, write down any questions you have. During the consultation, you'll talk about your case, and Mr. Tucker will ask questions in order to give you specific advice. At the end, you'll have time to ask more questions. The consultation usually lasts up to 30 minutes, so being prepared is helpful. We appreciate your time and ask you to respect ours too.

What you discuss with Mr. Tucker is private. Your conversation stays confidential, which helps our attorney give you the best advice if you're honest about your situation. To keep this privacy, we ask that only the person needing legal advice comes to the meeting. The attorney-client relationship is only for the length of this meeting, unless you sign our retainer contract. Mr. Tucker can only represent one person in a family law case, not a couple or family group.

We charge a non-refundable fee for consultations, which does not

apply to future services. We charge this fee for two main reasons:

our professional time is valuable, and complicated issues

like divorce and custody need careful, strategic thinking,

which justifies a fair fee. This fee also shows that

you are serious about using our services. We cannot provide

free legal aid.

If we decide to take your case and you choose to hire our firm,

you'll need to sign a contract and pay our retainer or fee to start.

Work begins only after both these steps are completed. We don't

offer case-specific advice without a consultation or

signed retainer, nor can we decide to take your case without one.

The sooner you engage our firm, the more we can do for you.

It's important to understand that a thorough review of all documents is necessary for our attorney to fully assess your case. Please bring everything you have been served and other pertinent documents to your consultation.

We look forward to assisting you.
